DW DKP System
Introduction
Despite being a "semi-casual" raiding guild there is nothing casual about raiding. You are either in a raid to win or you are in the wrong place. Every person that signs up for a raid should understand that raiding is serious business. It's about focus, paying attention, and following instructions without question. Yes it's about having fun, but understand that losing because someone isn't paying attention or thinks they should question every instruction is not fun. If you sign up for a raid, understand that up to 24 other people are counting on you to put in 110% effort. You should expect the same from them. If you aren't, then you are wasting everyone's time, including your own.
Sign Up and Rosters
Because space in any given raid is limited we use a sign up system. At least 72 hours before a planned raid a posting will be made in the DW Forums announcing the time, date, area, and any additional requirements.
You must use the sign up thread to be added to the raid. Emails, PMs, in game mail, phone calls, comments in vent, and anything else do not count. The point is simple; everyone can see who signed up, when, and with what job. No one gets special treatment. From those who sign up a roster will be created. This roster will be built based on the best possible combination of jobs to complete the raid. If you have a valid reason as to why you are not on the forms and able to sign up for raids talk the GM.
Consideration will be given to those next in line for a drop. But understand this does not always mean the person with the highest points will get in over a person with little or no points. If a person has signed up who has all the drops for a run, a person with few or no drops would receive preference over them. This avoids letting drops go to waste and ensures everyone has a fair and equal chance.
If more members’ sign up than there are slots for the raid, all additional members will be added to an 'Alternate' list. These people have first crack at a slot should one open up. If you sign up and are on the alternate list you must stay logged into the game and available to replace someone should the need arise. Doing so means you will gain as much DKP as if you were actually inside the instance doping the raid.
Do not post that you can 'maybe' come. If you are signing up you are signing up that you can come. You are making a commitment to be ready to go at the stated time for at least the stated period of time. Remember, even if you are an alt, you may end up in the raid anyway or as part of a new raid. We need people who can attend with near certainty. We understand things come up, life happens, and unexpected events change you plans. Just let us know. This is why we have alternates
If a person posts they must drop, they are removed from the raid entirely and an alternate takes their place. If the situation changes again and you are able to come after all, you'll be an alternate.
Raid invites begin at 11:30 pm server time. All raiders must be at the instance 15 minutes prior to the start of the event.
Anyone who has not arrived at instance point by the posted start time will lose their slot and it will be given to an alternate. Alternates are expected to be at the gather point at the stated time; If you aren't then you will not be given a slot, it will pass to an alternate who is present.
We understand sometimes you are going to run late. If you let us know we will hold your spot. But under no circumstances will we hold a spot for more than 15 minutes past the scheduled start time. That's a 30 minute leeway from gather time.
Expectations and Requirements
You must have ventrilo set up and ready to go before the start time. If you don't know how, can't find the information, or you are having trouble getting connected to our server contact an officer before the raid date. You'll have at least 3 days advanced notice to get it sorted out. Most problems take 10 minutes to fix. If you don't have ventrilo working at gather time, you aren't coming. Make sure it works before you sign up. You aren't required to talk but you must be able to at least hear the rest of us. Additional add-ons are listed in the raiding section of the forms.
You are expected to know your job. This means knowing spell rotations, equipment and set ups are best for your class for raiding. If you don't know, talk to your class and ask them. Make sure. For utility classes be sure to bring optional gear in case you are asked to change roles.
You are expected to bring all consumables you will need for the night – Flasks, Food and potions, or other items as listed in the raid posting. Standard items such as food, being repaired, health and mana potions will be expected on all raids. Again, it's expected you know which items are best for your class and role. If not, ask your class advisor to help you out.
DKP System, Concept and Overview
What is DKP?
DKP, traditionally refers to 'Dragon kill points'”. It is the point system used to determine who has first right of refusal on any given drop during our raids. We use DKP for one reason and one reason only. We believe effort equals rewards. Come, participate, and put in the effort and the gear takes care of itself. Don't come; don't complain you aren't getting anything. Hoping you'll get a lucky roll on your first trip and score gear while 24 other people have been working on it for a month will not work. That said, there are times when we have drops that everyone else has earned and it is entirely possible a person on their first run, with 0 DKP will pick up gear.
DKP and Loot Systems:
Accruing DKP
Being on Time: 5 DKP
Being Raid Ready: 5 DKP – If you ask in vent, or in raid/guild chat during a raid you will not be awarded this bonus.
1st failed attempt at a boss 2 DKP (progression boss only)
Gruul's Lair: 15 DKP per Boss Kill
Magtheridon's Lair: 15 DKP per Boss Kill
Serpentshrine Cavern/Tempest Keep: 20 DKP per Boss Kill
Mount Hyjal/Black Temple: 40 DKP per Boss Kill
Item Cost
Gruul's Lair: 75 per item
Magtheridon's Lair: 75 per item
Serpentshrine Cavern/Tempest Keep: 150 per item
Mount Hyjal/Black Temple: 250 per item
Biding System:
For all large raids, purple and greater drops will be handled in a 3-round system.
Round 1) You must be the intended class and at the rank of Privateer or above. No offf spec rolls
Round 2) You must be the intended class and at the rank of Marauder or above. No offf spec rolls
Round 3) Anyone can bid on round 3. No offf spec rolls
Round 4) The "shard" round will be 1/2 price, alts can bid on shard round, but can not win over a main character.
Privateers and above will have the ability to bid once in round one, once in round two, once in round three, and unlimited in round four.
Marauders will have the ability to bid once in round two, once in round three, and unlimited in round four.
All other will be allowed to bid once in round three, and unlimited in round four.
A round will be a maximum of 30 seconds. If you haven't bid by that point, you have lost your chance. The winner of a round will be determined by DKP. In the event of a tie, a random roll will decide. If you win on a round, you may not use that round again for that raid ID. Alts may only bid on the final round. If we have asked that you bring an Alt, then that character will be treated as your main for the raid. If you ask to bring your alt and we are able to accommodate you then it is an alt.
These loot rules apply to 25 man raids. All other raids and instances should follow a Need Before Greed system.
Loot Discussions:
Do not discuss who will or should be getting loot. Loot is awarded based on dkp and rounds, nothing else. It is unfair to make others think that any piece of equipment belongs to any member before s/he receives it and it is soulbound, no matter how bad one might want it or been waiting to get it. Discussing the effectiveness of pieces or comparing loot is fine, but do not partake in any discussion that is meant to persuade or dissuade another from bidding on an item.
Negative DKP
If a situation arises where a player wishes to obtain an item they do not have enough DKP to purchase, and no other player with the correct amount of DKP wants the item, you may incur DKP debt.

All 10 man instances and below will be done on a Need Before Greed system.
Due to the limited time between waves, Mount Hyjal trash drops will be done on a need for main specs and greed for off specs system. All trash drops will be considered r4 for DKP expenditures. Bosses loot will still be done in rounds.
